What process did you actually go through to transfer the data between machines?

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/456893762018-07-15T01:30:36Z2018-07-15T01:30:36Ztransferred MD data and app to new PC but Budget missing

I am sorry to say I don't recall - it was before I went on vacation. I don't know it this helpful but the data file has the same name as on the old PC: QDATA_2015 2.

Is there any way of just extracting the budget parameters from the old PC. I have updated the new PC's data with many transactions so I can't just go back to the old data file and lose the new transactions.

It there is no way then I'll just have to manually recreate the budget by visually view the budget on the old PC and manually entering it in the new but lots of budget categories.

Thanks.

afeldratag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/456893762018-07-15T02:49:01Z2018-07-15T02:49:01Ztransferred MD data and app to new PC but Budget missing

Your file name would lead me to believe you originally migrated from Quicken, nothing more.

I suspect you may have exported data from your Moneydance on your old machine in QIF format and imported this QIF file on your new machine. This would certainly not include any budget information. For information the way it should be done is to just copy the whole data set across.

I'm afraid I know of no way to export Budget info and subsequently import it into another moneydance data set.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/456893762018-07-15T16:10:45Z2018-07-15T16:10:45Ztransferred MD data and app to new PC but Budget missing

Hello,

There is no way to just export the budget information. I'm also not clear on the process you used for moving your data, but if you were moving from one installation of Moneydance to another, you should have simply copied your main data file to your new computer, and used the use the open other option from the Moneydance welcome screen or the menu bar (File -> Open -> Open Other) to select your yourfilename.moneydance data set. This would have included all of your data, including your budget. Any of the export options (QIF, etc.) would not include things beyond your basic transaction information.
