I would recommend the Mixed Interval ( Old Style ) budget.
You click Tools, Budget Manager, New, Budget name (whatever you want), and use the Period drop down to select Mixed Intervals (Old Style).

Once you have the new Mixed Interval budget created, you select that budget from the side bar (I think it appears by default) and then click Edit to set up your budget items. A could of quirks that may confuse you. Enter a new budget item by clicking the + sign at the bottom. The new item will show up at the bottom of the budget listing initially so if you don't see it, scroll to the bottom. Also once you enter the category, the list will try to resort itself alphabetically which will confuse you because you think it disappeared. But it will be there in alphabetical order so you can add the amounts and time range as need,

Also be aware MD will not pick up loan/mortgage payments or any kind of account to account transfer as a budget item. You need to do a few tricks to make that work for you if you want to track loan payments in an MD budget.

mhoggie
