<p>Yes! If you click the budget name, you should see a drop down
menu that will allow you to configure the date range of the budget,
along with which budget it's drawing its data from.</p>

what I was asking.</p>
<p>How do you take an IRA distribution (Retirement Income:IRA
Distribution) and get it to a checking account while still
recording it as an IRA Distribution?</p>
<p>The topic is online, but no definitive answer: (<a href="http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/suggestions/1622-impliment-a-means-of-tracking-distribution-of-retirement-funds">http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/suggestions/1622-impliment...</a>

<p>Help. I can't get this to work. Can you clarify the steps?</p>
<p>In my IRA account, I select XFR for a distribution. The TO
account is the "Retirement Income: IRA Distribution" as suggested.
But that does NOT get it to my Checking Account. How do I use the
"Pass Through" account so I can correctly categorize this and get
the BUDGET to work?</p></div>montytag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/363856302015-03-28T23:32:02Z2015-03-30T14:58:19ZSetting the default timeframe for budget<div><p>On the Summary page, I see my budget. If I click on that, I

is set up as a personal finance ledger and in accounting terms this
is a transfer from one asset account to another. The income was
earned at the time the funds were put into the IRA as a tax
deferred asset.</p>
<p>We do have a feature request ticket in for this with the
developers.</p>

message ended up getting add-ons from other postings. Thus the

<p>So let me ask it again: s there any way to set the default
timeframe for the budget displayed at the top when you launch
MD2015? The current display is "This month" which is often
distorted in that not much data is yet available. I would like it
to default to "This year" or "This quarter" or something like that.
Can this be done?</p></div>montytag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/363856302015-04-03T20:16:20Z2015-04-03T20:16:20ZSetting the default timeframe for budget<div><p>Hi Monty,</p>
<p>It's possible to specify a time period for the top budget bar,
however there's a bug that's causing the setting to not be
remembered after restarting Moneydance. There's an existing ticket
in our ticketing system regarding this issue, so I've attached it
to this discussion and the developers will be looking into it.</p>
<p>Please let us know if we can be of further assistance!</p>

<p>Also in working with the top budget bar, when one opens the bar
to obtain the dropdown list of categories; one cannot scroll down
the list with the wheel of the mouse. One has to point to the
scroll bar on the right of the list and drag the scroll bar down to
view all the categories. I hope that I have explained this
condition well enough. I am working with MD2015.4 (1188).</p>

<p>Can you tell me what operating system you're using? Also, are
you using a mixed interval budget when that happens, or another
budgeting period?</p>

is under the New Budget format utilizing a monthly budget - (not
mixed).</p>
<p>Jerry</p></div>Gerald Achortag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/363856302015-04-06T21:22:15Z2015-04-06T21:22:15ZSetting the default timeframe for budget<div><p>Scott,</p>
<p>I tested more thoroughly the scrolling aspect of traversing the
budget list. I do now find that if I place the mouse pointer on the
<strong>left side</strong> of the dropdown list, the mouse wheel is
effective in scrolling. Beforehand, I had always placed the pointer
on the right side of the list in attempting to scroll - <strong>no
results</strong>. It is strange how that functions - the placement
of the mouse pointer on a list. Some places on a list it works;
other places it doesn't. (g)</p>
<p>Do as you will. Probably no change needed. (g)</p>

<p>I'm unable to reproduce this, so I'm not sure why it's happening
for you. It may be something specific with your setup for some
reason.</p>
<p>Scott Meehan<br>
Infinite Kind Support</p></div>Scott Meehantag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/363856302015-04-11T13:25:06Z2015-04-11T13:25:06ZSetting the default timeframe for budget<div><p>Scott,</p>
<p>Refining my sculling situation, it seems that scrolling areas
might be divided or defined by columns defined on the Budget
Screen.</p>
<p>I find that if I scroll with the mouse wheel in the Category
Column, the screen will scroll. If I try and scroll in the Amount
Columns - (Budgeted ...),(Actual Am...), and (Difference), the
screen (Home Summary Page) in the Window behind the Budget
Screen/Window will scroll - not contents in the Budget Screen.</p>
<p>Again, this is on a OS of Windows 7 Home Premium. Surely this
condition can be duplicated.</p>
<p>Jerry</p></div>Gerald Achortag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/363856302015-04-12T02:31:48Z2015-04-12T02:31:48ZSetting the default timeframe for budget<div><p>Scott,</p>
<p>I am talking about the Budget Status Graph in the above post. By
the way, <strong>sculling</strong> mentioned in the above post
should be <strong>scrolling</strong>. I still wish that we had a
way to edit our individual posts.</p>

<p>We've fixed the issue with the default budget timeframe not
being saved correctly. This fix is in the current preview build,
which you can download here:</p>

<p>Jerry, if you're still having trouble with scrolling, can you
open a new ticket for that issue?</p>
<p>Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance, and
thanks for using Moneydance.</p>
