<p>Unfortunately this is a bug in Moneydance. There's an existing
ticket in our ticketing system regarding this issue, so I've
attached it to this discussion and the developers will be looking
into it.</p>
<p>Please let us know if we can be of further assistance!</p>

on the preview site shortly. Can you try out that build and let me
know if it solves the "Not in Budget" issue?</p>

<p>Build 1205 works well. Thank you.</p>
<p>Would it be possible to allow the user to edit the order of the
budget bars. I have a dozen or so bars, but there is no sense to
the order (e.g., sub-categories under bills are spread all over and
not adjacent each other.</p>
<p>Cheers,<br>

<p>While in the Home Summary Page,. right-click on a budget bar.
You will then see a mini-menu popup showing the entries of <em>Move
Up, Move Down, Remove</em>. I hope that does the trick. (g)</p>

<p>Thanks. It works, but it is not elegant. I can see that this
will take a while.</p>
<p>It would be great if there was a more elegant solution for
moving the bars (and accounts for that matter) and potentially
grouping them.</p>

<p>+1 for seeing your wishes implemented in a future build of
MD.</p>
<p>By the way, here is a link to information about the Bars before
the Budget Bar Widget was an integral part of MD.</p>

<p>Brilliant. Thank you. I do love this program by the way.</p>
<p>Given your excellent response, I should post to the forum on my
other bugbear (dealing with foreign currencies in the iOS app).</p>
<p>Have a great weekend.</p>

<p>Thank you for your kind words. I love the interaction given by
users and the IK Staff on this Forum.</p>

<p>At least I did not expect to have the ordering of the budget
bars to be considered as a <strong>bug</strong>! (g) The process is
already present to do the ordering.</p>
<p>To me, it is fine as it is. <em>Maybe</em> documentation should
be included in the Manual; if it is not there already, on how to
reorder the Bars..</p>

<p>This is not a bug, but it is a pain in the next to reorder with
the current system. It’s fine if there are only 3 or 4 bars,
but with more than 6-10 it is annoying.</p>
<p>Thanks for your great support guys.</p>

<p>I would like to make a suggestion on a more elegant solution
(Peter's terminology) to the ordering of the Budget Bars; since
this thread has been assigned a <em>bug</em> ticket.</p>
<p>Have the <em>Ordering coding</em> be controlled under the Budget
Bar Widget Settings in the Window Screen of <em>Selected
Categories</em>. Modify the Coding to be handled as such:<br>
1. Add <em>Move Up</em> and <em>Move Down</em> commands as Action
Buttons on the <em>Selected Categories</em> Screen.<br>
2. When the User <em>Add(s)</em> a Category from the <em>Available
Items</em> List to the <em>Included Items</em> List; do
<strong>not</strong> sort the <em>Included Items</em> List
Alphabetically, but place the added category at the bottom of the
<em>Included Items</em> List.<br>
3. Allow the User to then <em>Move Up</em> or <em>Move Down</em>
(via the new Action Buttons) the selected Category in the
<em>Included Items</em> List.<br>
4. When the user closes the <em>Selected Categories</em> Screen
Window, and exits <em>Settings</em>; arrange the Budget Bars
displayed on the Home Summary Screen in the order that the
Categories were arranged in the <em>Included Items</em> List.</p>
<p>My two cents worth. (g)</p>
<p>Jerry</p></div>Gerald Achortag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/366530002015-05-11T01:39:52Z2016-12-06T04:17:05ZNot in budget<div><p>Gerald,</p>
<p>Thanks for working on this. Your solution would work well.</p>
<p>It would also be elegant if there was an option to indent (or
somehow discriminate) subcategories. For example, I have a budget
bar to capture my performance on Bills, but I also include some
subcategory bars such as Bills:Mobile to target items that I have
greater control over.</p>
<p>The above would also be useful for the left hand accounts bar. I
have 12 accounts for the different currencies I use plus 9
different "bank" accounts. These are all sorted alphabetically so I
have been able to clean things up by some judicious account naming
and liberal use of removing and re-adding accounts to the side bar
when needed. The ability to group accounts so that I can expand and
collapse the groups would be great. Sorry. I realise that this has
become a completely separate issue. Should I post this separately
as a suggestion?</p>
<p>Cheers,<br>

bars.</p>
<p>Peter, we actually already have a suggestion ticket for sidebar
ordering, so I've attached it to this thread. No need to open a new
discussion, unless you want to talk about it further.</p>
