Hewitt Associates
I am having problems using Moneydance in trying to connect with Hewitt Associates. Actually, I am trying to set up the online access. I am getting the following error:
There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.
A communication or parsing error occurred. This could be the
result of a network problem, a proxy error, or misconfigured

I have a Mac OSX 10.5.7

Mark,
It sounds like the connection information we have for Hewitt Associates needs to be updated. We should have it fixed within the next few days.
Best,

I too am having problems with setting up online access with Hewitt Associates.
After entering my ID and PIN I get the following error message.
"The given customer ID or PIN is not valid. for more information, contact your financial institution. Additional information from the server: Signon invalid."
I was able to successfully use my ID and PIN signing onto the Hewitt website.

We have updated the connection information for Hewitt Associates. Please re-setup your connection, and it should be working now.

Brian,
Thanks for the quick response. I am getting the same signon error.
I can access my account directly via
http://www.resources.hewitt.com/benefitsexpressoeb/
with the same id and pin.
Thanks for any help.
Jim

Jim,
I have checked from our end and it seems that Hewitt is working. To be specific, it is Hewitt Assoc-Your Bnfts Resources (the 401K account) that we have supported for Direct Connect. The only other Hewitt that is supportable for Direct Connect is Hewitt Financial Services (the investment account). Is your account an investment account or a 401K account?
Do either of you need us to add support for Hewitt Financial Services? It may also be that your account simply needs to be enabled for Direct Connections by Hewitt before it will connect properly.
Sincerely,
Brian

Brian,
This is a 401k account thru my wife's employer. I can access it via
my browser at
http://www.resources.hewitt.com/benefitsexpressoeb/
I have had this capability in using Microsoft Money. I don't
understand how MS Money does the connection but I assume it is Direct
Connect.
I have been able to get most other online updates to work in MD that I
had working MS Money. Just not this one. And unfortunately there
does not appear to be a way to directly download transactions from the
website.
Thanks for your assistance,
Jim
btw - I am new to MD - another MS Money refugee. I was able to
'fairly easily' to convert 20 years of data to MD over the past 3-4
days. Not perfect but easier than MANY of other applications that I
have tried over the past 2-3 years. I am still excited about finding
Moneydance. I wished I had found it earlier. I don't know how I
didn't find it before. I am a Mac user. I believe because MD is not
Mac-only there is some bias against it in the Mac world. My ONLY
complaint of the Mac world is that there is a REAL shortage of full
featured personal finance apps (most often they are lacking in
investment tracking). MD appears to do most of what MS Money did for
me.
I have seen some talk about the new version coming this fall. What is
the best place to see what might be included in the new version? It
may save me some work if I knew what may be included in the new
version. I did find the MD Wiki and Trac list of mod requests.

Jim,
Keep in mind that your user name for moneydance (and quicken) is slightly different than through the website.
Log into the website version and look through the instructions for quicken. It should tell you how to add on the company code to your username for moneydance.
For instance, my employer, citigroup, it is:
"username" via the web login
and
"username-01488" through moneydance
Hope this helps,
Mark

Jim,
Does Mark's post resolve your issue?

Mark and Brian,
Thanks for the continued assistance.
Mark's info was helpful. I spent some time on the phone with my wife's employee benefits people and found out the company code. Then I had to experiment several times to figure out the format to append to my username. But after several attempts I did get it to work!
Thanks much,
Jim
