Hi,
I have the same Catalina issue as previously logged, and your suggestion is to updated to 2019.3.
I should add that I can open Money Dance 2015, I just cant see my files.
My question is; Will this allow me to access my current files from the existing version, as I have 6 years of detailed transactions, and would cry if they are lost.
Thanks
Don

    Hello Don,

Unfortunately due to significant changes Apple made with its operating system for Catalina, only Moneydance 2019.3 or later will run properly on that operating system. Yes, data files made in the 2015 version can be opened in the 2019 version. Moneydance should check to see the last place you opened your file after you upgrade, but if you need to remind the program where your data files are stored, use the open other option from the Moneydance welcome screen or the menu bar (File -> Open -> Open Other) to select your yourfilename.moneydance data set.

    Hi,

Thank you for your quick response, do you know where the file might be located as default on a MAC?

    Thanks again,

    Don

    I'm a fellow user.

For each Operating System the default data locations are given in the document:

    Thanks dwg,

I did find the files, but I did something stupid, which may serve as a
    warning to others.
I found the archive version and restored that, which worked.
Unfortunately, it was quite out of date, and when I went to close Money
Dance it wrote the archive over the current version, as they had the same
    name.
It seems that the lesson to maintain frequent backups always has to be
    learnt the hard way.

The backups that Moneydance 2019 creates will by default have unique file names as it appends date/time stamps to the name and hence unique restore names.

Even if you restored an archive version, that shouldn't have affected your main data file. Are you still able to find it in the location that link described? It would only disappear if you manually deleted it.

Thanks again for your help, and as they say hope is the last thing to die.

However, in the 2015 version the archive does not have a date stamped into
the name, so when I restored it had the same name as the original file.
When closing the application it automatically re-saved the archive into the
main file, overwriting, most likely, the previous file I required.

    Regards,

    Don
