I think that this function should mean that if you change the date of this transacton it should save the reminder (and only this one!) keeping the new date.
Othewise, remove the button. It only gives confusion.
Btw: you could have given this answer in the former discussion being raised.

raffy1tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/485206712020-08-06T21:54:45Z2020-08-06T21:54:46ZFunctionality “Defer Reminder"

I agree - in this context “Defer Reminder” seems to just mean close the pop up again ie don’t enter and don’t skip).

I also agree with you about the way in which requests for help are just closed without being addressed. If this forum is the only way to get support from MD then why are people’s requests often never answered (including some of my own)?

Kidglove57tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/485206712020-08-06T22:10:06Z2020-08-06T22:10:06ZFunctionality “Defer Reminder"

I'm a fellow user.

When you select Defer reminder I do not think it removes that instance from the reminder list which a Skip should do, so it will stay in the reminder list. This I think is intended to be the primary aim and it will stay in reminders or Overdue reminders until dealt with. There is not the capability to change the date for a single instance and have it processed as a one off.

With any support system there is no way for a customer to force the support people to respond. This is a management problem to ensure that support requests are effectively dealt with in a timely matter.

If you are having a problem gaining support I can only suggest you do what people should do whenever they are dissatisfied and that is complain to the management in the first instance.

In the case of Moneydance that means Sean Reilly and his email is

I know about Sean Reilly. I’ve been using this program since 2003. I hope he’s also looking at the Forum, once in a while.
Defer means moving till a later time/date and that doesn’t work. So the button should be named “Close window”, but there is another Close window button, on Mac above left.
That’s why I think it’s confusing.

Raffy1tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/485206712020-08-08T14:56:34Z2020-08-08T14:56:34ZFunctionality “Defer Reminder"

Hi Raffy1,

I think I'm the OP of the referenced 'closed' discussion from 2017.
As I mentioned there, the Defer button is either misleading or broken.
