Hi, I am current using version 2014.5 on both my PC and Mac.

How do I go about upgrading to the latest version of the software and do you envisage any problems in doing so?

Cheers from me.

It is certain possible to upgrade to the latest release and in general there are not too many problem, there is of course always the exception, so precautions need to be taken as with any upgrade.

The first question I would ask before you even start to upgrade is are you sharing your data between machine, in Moneydance 2014 that would generally be by moving your data set to Dropbox.

Yes I actually have all the data in the cloud (one Drive). The system has been working well for me.

So if this is the case, how do I go about upgrading?

Later versions of Moneydance do not support storing your data on any shared service, this is likely to result in data corruption.

So the first step is to move the data back to the local disk of one machine, you would move it to the machine that you determine moving forward to be the primary.

Later on you can use Moneydance's inbuilt syncing engine tool have the same data on both system.

You will need to purchase an upgrade license:

After moving the data to the local disk you take a backup and put it into a safe place.

Then you download the latest version and install it. After starting Moneydance the software will upgrade the data to the latest format.

You will need to update any extensions you may have.

After all is working on one machine you then follow the instructions in the article

to have Moneydance and the data on both machines

This is a high level indication of the steps that need to be taken.
