<p>Basically you don't archive. You can backup the entire data file, but you just continue onward.</p>
<p>If you are asking in order to do a report, you can filter by date (so as to get tax data, etc.) But the concept of archiving and starting over is ancient, to the time when there was little data storage capacity.</p>
<p>I personally have 35 years of data in my database file, and about the only thing the size seems to affect is load time, which is still in about 10 seconds or so.</p>
