Or perhaps start from that date with new txns. You could do this, then set your old currency to be relative to your new currency 1:1 and migrate balances etc.

(Not support, just a fellow user)

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/493723952021-09-04T14:17:49Z2021-09-04T14:19:34ZHow to not have decimals on numbers .00 ?

Hi Stuart. Thanks for your advice.

I created a new Currency Called "Peso Chileno" with 0 decimals.

Created a new account with "Peso Chileno"

I see all the transactions inside that account with no decimals, but in the reports and net worth still get 2 decimals.

I also created a totally new file and try to Specify on creation the new "Peso Chileno" currency, but creations of currencies are per file, so I get on the list only the defaults currencies.
Any recommendation on this? or should I send a feature request to the developers to be able to not have the decimals on "Chilean Peso" Currency?

daniel1982tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/493723952021-09-04T14:40:42Z2021-09-04T14:40:43ZHow to not have decimals on numbers .00 ?

I think I find how to solve this!!!
Wait and will explain :-)

daniel1982tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/493723952021-09-04T14:49:51Z2021-09-04T14:49:51ZHow to not have decimals on numbers .00 ?

I just tried it and it works. Don't forget these reports use your base currency... So what is your base set to?

BACKUP FIRST!

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/493723952021-09-04T15:52:07Z2021-09-04T15:54:17ZHow to not have decimals on numbers .00 ?

All ok and working :-)

But, because I don´t want to have two equal currencies called "Chilean Peso" and a custom currency "Peso Chileno". I have to think on another solution.
So.... the solution was to.

I delete all the accounts that use "Chilean Peso"

Also set on menu Tools -> Currencies "Peso Chileno" as default, and try to delete the "Chilean Peso" currency, but the program keeps telling me that I can't and give me an error....

So! The Solution was to create a new file and just in the creation file assistant of the file delete "Chilean peso" currency, create "Peso Chileno" currency (with 0 decimals on it) and establish "Peso Chileno" as the default currency. -Then export all from the old file, and import all on the new file created.

Thanks for your help!!!
:-)

daniel1982tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/493723952021-09-04T21:49:36Z2021-09-04T21:49:36ZHow to not have decimals on numbers .00 ?

Your solution makes sense.

Once a currency has been used and is thus in use Moneydance will not allow you to delete it. Therefore if you have any accounts created that use the currency you could not delete the currency, you would have to delete all transactions in the account and then you could potentially change the currency of the empty account and once no account used the currency delete it.

It is pretty much the same as working with a security in this respect.

With a currency it really is necessary to get it right before using it.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/493723952021-09-04T22:18:59Z2021-09-04T22:18:59ZHow to not have decimals on numbers .00 ?

Ps. To add to dwg’s comments. Categories are really accounts and all your categories would also be using the old Peso, hence the cannot delete message.

Stuart Beesley (Mr Toolbox)
