Think of Moneydance as you would any other application that
generates and edits documents. Moneydance uses a single data file
per set of accounts. Moneydacen file end with the extension ".md"
without the quotes. If you share that data file on a network using
a file server, you can connect to that file server from another
machine run moneydance and open the data file. If you want more
than one set of accounts creat a new file by select File->New.
The one important warning that come swith sharing your data file
with other computers is that you should only open your data file on
one computer at any one time. If you open the file on two computers
at the same time the last computer to save will overwrite the first
computers changes.

The moneydacne iphone app will run on the ipad.

The iphone app can only synchronize with the main moneydance app
when the main moneydacne app is running and both devices are on the
same local network. So no you will not be able to do this from
anywhere in the world. At least not with the first version of the
iphone app.

If being able to access and sync your data from anywhere in the
world is important to you you may want to consider storing your
moneydance data file on a cloud service such as dropbox.

I am sorry if this does not meet your needs.

Sincerely
