correct? I tried to replicate your issue and wasn't able to. I'm
using MD 2010 build 741 on Mac OS X 10.5.8. In fact, when I select
the account to search a check mark automatically gets entered into
the box without me having to click on it. But I did try it both
ways (with and without the check mark) and always got the same
transactions listed in the report.

Nonametag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/10683652010-02-19T23:37:08Z2010-02-19T23:37:09ZFind Transaction Question

Hi:
I am using Moneydance 2010r2 (735) on Win7x64; this seems to be the
latest version. I start off by clicking Edit on top menubar and
then selecting 'Advanced Search...' which results in the 'Find
Transaction' popup window. From there the steps are as described
above.

Waynetag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/10683652010-02-19T23:53:24Z2010-02-19T23:53:24ZFind Transaction Question

Latest version is build 741 which you can update to here:
<a href=

if you'd like.

I tried what you described using Advanced Search (again, in
build 741) and if there was no check mark in the acct box (even
with a specific acct showing in the box) then it searched all
accounts and found the transactions I was looking for. When I
checked the acct box it found just those transactions that fell
under that particular acct that was showing in the box (which was a
subset of my first search list). So it seems to be working ok in
build 741. I'm not sure if there's also a Search Report in build
735, but if so you may want to try that as well if you decide not
to update to 741.

Could be a bug in 735 that was fixed in 741.

Nonametag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/10683652010-02-20T00:22:48Z2010-02-20T00:22:48ZFind Transaction Question

Confirmed, it was fixed by build 738 (but I can't see it listed
in the change log). Before, e.g. in build 735, it seems to only
check the "category" (or "other side") of transactions for a match
against the Account you picked in the Find Transaction popup.

So if you asked for it to find transactions with account
Checking, it would only find transactions in other
accounts that list Checking as their category. E.g. a transfer from
Savings to Checking, if you entered it from the Savings account
side. At least, that's what I think it was doing. Kind of
unexpected behavior, so I'm glad it got fixed.

ljbtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/10683652010-02-20T01:48:16Z2010-02-20T01:48:17ZFind Transaction Question

Just downloaded build 741 and all is well. Thanks!

Wayne
