Random currency conversions

I have a number of bank accounts in different currencies. Even though the base currency of all of these is correct there is a random conversion to £ in the second line of a recorded transaction. I can't find any option to turn this off. The alternative is to switch to single line mode but this doesn't allow for my descriptions to appear. Why does this happen for a while under different accounts and then turn itself off?

    Hello,

    Is it possible that the category or second account associated with that transaction is in a different currency? That would cause a conversion to appear in that line.

    If that doesn't seem to help, is there any consistency you can see in which transactions have these conversions? Such as a similar category, a transfer between accounts, etc?

    Thank you for the response and apologies for slow reply.
    The various accounts are set up in the correct currencies.
    I have attached a screen shot of a typical random occurrence. The entry
    seems to assume I wish to convert into £ suddenly.

    I think there may be an issue with Categories and Exchange Rates.
    What is your Base Currency of your data set as shown under TOOLS – CURRENCY.
    Under TOOLS – CATEGORIES see if the category Tourrettes:Utility is listed more than once. If so can you post a screen shot of this section of the window. Also take a screen shot of the category Profess fees.

    The above hopefully will be a step in understanding what’s happening.

    I suggest you check you categories. Take the menu path Tools --> Categories. This will open up the categories Window.

    Once you have this window open scroll down the list to make sure all the categories have the correct currency. I would also be looking to see if I had two categories of the same name but with different currencies.

    My base currency is £GB.
    All my categories are in £ and always have been. It doesn't allow me to
    edit the currency.
    I have individual accounts in $ and € which are set correctly.
    Appreciate your input but this doesn't explain why it randomly does the
    exchange rate. Categories such as 'holiday' and 'groceries' appear in all
    my accounts.
