Moneydance - Windows to Mac?

I need to replace my Windows laptop. I am considering getting a Mac but ONLY if I can easily migrate my Moneydance data to Mac version of Moneydance. I am running Moneydance for Windows Version 2022.4 (4078). Is it as easy as exporting a backup file to usb stick and inserting that into a mac and opening that file using Moneydance for Mac (if I get a mac)?

     Thanks Kevin, this is excellent.  If I go this route, I might have to repurchase MD, as it would be MD for Mac so I should add that $49.99 to price of new Mac computer.....  Those Mac add-ons add up.  lol
      As for Plaid, I guess I just disconnect current Plaid at $2 a month and setup new Plaid subscription on the Mac version.  Hopefully the latest Mac version plays with Plaid as well as Windows.

   just a user -

   If you own MD for Windows, for personal use, there is no charge to download MD for Mac.

   As for Plaid, there are limits, but I think you can move that subscription as well to the mac without disconnecting it. If I'm wrong, someone will jump in, I'm sure.

   I'm a fellow user.

   From memory a Moneydance+ subscription allows for 3 data sets.

   Rather than using backup and restore I would be inclined to try moving the entire data set "as is" from Windows to the Mac, This I think will move the subscription for the data set as well.

   All you need to do is md/file/export backup on windows and then md/file/restore backup on Mac. That’s it. Then reset up sync again.

   DO NOT disconnect Plaid/md+. It should just carry on.
