Matching downloaded transactions

When I enter a deposit that includes several checks I enter each check as a separate deposit into MD, but when I download transactions from the bank, invariably, the deposit comes through as a lump sum total. In Quicken there was a way to manually match several register items with a single downloaded item. Is there a way to get MD to do this?

I don't think Moneydance can do this. Your best bet would be to enter the deposit as a single transaction, and then enter the individual checks as splits within that transaction.

Have you tried entering the deposit as one item with split categories/descriptions?

Hans and John are correct. You should enter the deposit as a split of the various checks, then you will be able to match the transaction with the bank's record of the transaction.
