Unconfirmed Transactions permanent

New MD file. Imported data from CSV into default "Checking" account. Confirmed all the transactions.
These all seem to be permanently flagged as imported and everty time the account is opened, a third of the register panel is consumed by the "0 unconfirmed transactions" section.
How do I get rid of that section ?

    Click on the small icon next to the new transaction button at the top of the register, the icon acts as a toggle control.
