Updating for Linux - POP OS
I click on the pop-up message to update and get to 'Update to MoneyDance' page. Then I click on Linux - Download Deb. I then select 'Download with Eddy'. Then, I get an 'Eddy' page with a button that is labelled 'Uninstall'. I am loathe to go any further as I do not want to uninstall MoneyDance, merely update it. Some concise updating instructions would be much appreciated!
Thank you.

Although I'm not familiar with POP OS, I can send you the installation steps for Ubuntu that hopefully will be useful, if not you could try to post a question on the public forum where our Moneydance knowledgeable users might be able to address this specifically.
You could try to install the moneydance_linux_amd64.deb. as well as the “GDebi Package Installer” in terminal sudo apt install gdebi.
Then you should see the GDebi Package Installer under the “Show Application” icon in tray.
Make GDebi Package Installer a favorite.
- Run GDebi Package Installer - Use 'File' dropdown 'Open' to locate moneydance_linux_amd64.deb, then highlight the file and click 'Open'. - After a delay the window will fill in with info on Moneydance. - Click Install Package. If you get the Authentication Required window, enter your Ubuntu password.
After a delay Moneydance should install. Under the “Show Application” icon in tray, make Moneydance a favorite, so it will actually appears in the tray.
Alternately once “GDebi Package Installer” is installed, double click on moneydance_linux_amd64.deb to open the Package Installer.

Thanks. I installed GDebi, found the Moneydance deb, and got this on the
GDebi app:

There does not seem to be any upgrade in the downloaded .deb

The same version message is pretty typical with Linux. The minor version checking does not seem to occur properly, so I would not worry about that.

I opened GDebi, found the 'moneydance_linux_amd64.deb' file in downloads
and opened it in GDebi. It told me that the same version of Moneydance is
already installed.

I clicked on 'reinstall package' and it seemed to work well. Everything now
seems to be working, but I have no idea if I got an update or not. How can
I tell? FYI, I how have version 2024.2 (5172)
