moved to new computer and my version of moneydance works but uses rosetta to translate it
Hi IK.
I'm not a power user but I do use Moneydance to track my bank balance.
I used migration assistant to move everything over and moneydance came up with an issue that the MacOS addressed by using Rosetta Stone to I guess translate it so the new chip could read it.
I read about moneydance + and that kind goes against the grain with how I use Moneydance. I use it to audit what my bank is doing. I don't trust them to feed data to moneydance, I do all my data entry myself.
Does the 65$ standalone version do anything different than the one I have now?
oh I'm on Version 2021.1(3069) anything shiny or new that i should know about?

The Blog contains details of what has changed in each version of Moneydance.

IF you wish to upgrade, at minimum newer versions do support Mac with Mx chips natively versus Rosetta. You are not required to use Moneydance+ or a subscription to it.
To upgrade (for half price, not $65) which would be good for 2024/2025 - go to www.infinitekind.com/upgrade and enter your license code. This is not required, Many stay at whatever version they are at for years. The one thing that sometimes requires an upgrade is a MacOS upgrade that leaves versions (on many softwares) behind.

Just to add about one specific point: Moneydance+ is an optional add on. You can still use the program as you have been, there's no requirement to use this service, or any other form of bank connection.

Thanks for this. I don't visit here often but every time I do I find your info (& @dwg) most helpful. I came here to find out if my soon to arrive upgrade to an Apple M4 is going to work ok. And IK can thank you because I just paid my $25.
