When I click on Extensions->Moneydance updater, it tells me that I have the
current stable version.

When I cllck on About Moneydance, it says the version is 2008r3 (629),
and has this info:

Java Version: 1.5.0_16
Java Vendor: Apple Computer, Inc.

When I look at www.moneydance.com/other, it says the stable version is 631.

Is there something amiss with Moneydance updater? How should I update?

Dave, We'll have a look to see if there is an issue with the updater. But in the meantime, you can just download (631) from the link you were viewing and place it in your applications folder.
