How print a report divided by category showing each expense?
Hi Moneydance team,
I'm working on the trial version of your MoneyDance software and I'm loving it. Before I purchase it I have a question: with Quicken, once I entered each expense into a report I could print out a list of all my individual expenses within each category AND I COULD SEE EACH EXPENSE LISTED within that category as well as the total of those expenses. Please see screenshot below. You will see the category "Adv & Publicity" followed by three expenses (30, 94.95, and 52.75) and then a total amount for those three expenses (177.70). Please see the arrows pointing to the title of each category then the total amount for each of those individual expenses. Underneath that you will see the category "Classes and Lessons" followed by multiple entries and then a total for that category (3,257.86). How do I do the same in Moneydance? How do I prepare and print a report showing each individual expense within each category and then a total for each category? Is that possible to do in MoneyDance? I hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.

just a user,
You can produce a subtotaled category report using the Transaction Filter report.
The reports are under tools, graphs and reports.
Below the category selections you will find the Subtotal setting. Set it to subtotal by categories along with whatever date ranges and specific category selections you need.
