Accessing Data File on Another Drive From MD for Linux
I'm trying to access a data set on my separate hard drive from MD 2024.4 for Linux but the drive is not shown in the list when I go to file>open. The drive is mounted. How can a make it show on the list?

I cannot reproduce your problem.
If I attached a USB drive I can see it in the File Manager window that Moneydance displays. I also have a second internal drive and have no issues accessing it either.

Using File > Open > open other from MD for Linux? See attached screen shot. I don't see how to get to another drive.

Click on the arrow key shown show where you are in the tree and allow you to select the top of the tree or use the up one level button to the left of the home button to transverse through the folder levels until you get to the root level of the file system, then you can go down any branch.

Sorry, but I'm new to Linux. I think I've done what you said and I still don't see a way to get to another drive. In the Files app I can navigate to it with no problem.

External USB devices will be under the media folder, there is likely to be a folder under this with your username on it and the device should be in there.
You will need to become familiar with the Unix file system structure.

Oh, okay. I see how to get there now. Still had to type in the exact file location once I got to the drive. But the hard part was done.
Thank you very much. And yes, I do need to become familiar with this file system. So different from Windows.

You will have problems with the Java file chooser with hidden folders which can be a problem considering your home Moneydance folder is hidden on Linux.
I think the developer should have used the option in Java to show hidden files under the circumstances or perhaps to use a native chooser which can have toggle options for hidden files.

Okay. Now your talking way over my head. But maybe I can learn about Java file chooser later. And developer? Are you talking about MD developer or the Linux developer? The Files App lets me see hidden files. That's how I knew the rest of the path and the exact file name that wouldn't show in the (file chooser?) window.
None the less, I just wanted to access my old data file for looking up past spending and running reports at tax time without going back to Windows to do so. I started a new data file when I started running Linux (Ubuntu Budgie).
Thank you so much for your help. You got me going in the right direction and showed me that I still have a lot to learn when it comes to Linux.

The Moneydance developer.
The Java file chooser as it has been set up in Moneydance will not allow you to navigate to hidden folders. I suspected you may have had what Linux considers a hidden folder, which is of course totally different to Windows - I use both systems.
I have left a note for the developer about it.
