Apologies if this has been discussed. Searching the public discussions doesn't appear to be working.

Any tips on using a Fidelity CMA in Moneydance? I see it cannot be added as a checking account under Bank and I also cannot see a way to merge transactions under the Investment account bank register.

    just a user,

    I have a Fidelity CMA and it is set up as an investment. Fidelity allows direct connect updates. Works good.

    I have seen two approaches used:

    1. Set up the CMA as a security, buys and sells are done at 1.00

    2. Carry the balance in the Investment account

    Merge is not supported in Investment accounts.

    This capability has often been requested. I can only suggest the more people that request the capability, the more likely it is to get to the top of the list.

    FWIW the Tender search capability seems to work if you are not logged in, if you are, it fails.

    Go figure.

    @dwg,The CMA works fine using the "Bank Register" without buys/sells, just wish they did include the merge capability. Now that I can search (logged out), I'll see what others have suggested.

    @Maddy, thanks.

    Yes it works with the bank register.

    This means you are carrying the balance in the Investment account, which in effect was the second option given, the "Bank Register" is really a different "view" of the data that just shows the transactions that are compatible with a bank register and allows you to enter transactions using that style and with most of the capabilities of a Bank register.
