Making Tax Digital
I own a single rental property, and will be caught by Making Tax Digital (MTD) legislation. I love MoneyDance and do not want to change. Will Moneydance become HMRC compliant for MTD? If so, when?

Jen25, I am in the same position. I bit the bullet and am using ClearBooks, via a browser. It is free and works a treat. It links well to my bank accounts, and allows you to add extra categories for expenses etc. I have just linked to HMRC and submitted the first 3 quarters for 25-26 tax year.
It is worth a look.

Hi Jen,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
Using Moneydance you can generate data using the 'VAT' report, and export the data as a CSV file. Then use a different program (like TaxOptimiser) to configure the report so it is compliant with MTD.
As other UK users have requested they would like to see a report in Moneydance that can be filed directly with MTD, without the need for another program or service, we have created a suggestion ticket in our system.
For the time being, I believe that spreadsheets can be accepted from Moneydance to HMRC if they are configured correctly.
So, you could use the 'Income and Expense' report, or the 'Income and Expense, Detailed' report.
Reports are accessible via Tools --> Graphs and Reports, or in the left side bar (below your accounts).
When viewing the report settings, you can choose the accounts to include and you can specify the date range. The date range can be set as longer than just 12 months.
At the bottom of the report settings window, you'll likely see 'All Income' and 'All Expense'. Choose the button to the right of this - Show: By Individual.
This will display each of your individual categories and you can choose which to include/exclude before generating the report to view your data.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have further questions or need any assistance.
