Hi

I am wondering if there is a way in MoneyDance to create a report of the Foreign Exchange loss or gain on an account.

The version of MoneyDance I currently have is 2023.3 (5064)

Kind regards
Máire

    Hi Maire,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

Moneydance doesn’t currently offer a dedicated Foreign Exchange Gain/Loss report. You can see the effects of currency changes in reports such as Investment Performance, Net Worth, or Account Balances, but FX gains and losses aren’t broken out separately for foreign‑currency accounts.

If you need a detailed FX analysis, the usual approach is to export the account to CSV and calculate the FX impact externally.

You could use the extension Extract Data version 1046. This is available from Extensions->Manage Extensions->Extract Data

This extension is a useful tool aiming to extract your data to screen/csv.

So, you can download your data to Excel where you can filter, sort etc.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.
