Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
Unfortunately we won't be able to advise you on third party reseller's versions, term and conditions. I would suggest you contact Amazon's customer service, directly.
On the other hand, I can confirm that when purchasing directly from our website, according to our license agreement you can use one license per household, regardless of many people are in your household, how many computers you need to install the program on, or how many different operating systems (Mac, Linux, Windows, etc) you use.
When you purchase Moneydance, it’s a one-off payment and not a subscription or a recurring fee.
After purchasing, you'll be sent a license key via email. This key will be valid with all builds of the current release, and also the next major version.
We never force upgrades or ‘sunset’ older versions of the program, so you can continue to use the same version for as long as you wish.
That being said, if you did decide to upgrade in the future, you’d be entitled to a 50% discount.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have further questions or need any assistance.
I would also be wary that the Amazon cheap versions may indeed come with a license key for an older version of Moneydance, meaning your upgrade options for the next major upgrade will not be as good as buying direct. I did read somewhere of someone who had this problem buying third party. Also if you buy direct you will be eligible for a refund under Moneydance's new user policy should you find yourself unhappy with the software. Just my 2 cents worth :)
