It looks like you also have an initial balance set.

Highlight the account in the side bar. Select the menu item Account--> Edit Account

There is an Initial Balance field on the resultant screen, looks like it has a value of 37.18 in it.

In Moneydance for the opening balance you generally do an Opening balance transaction or set the initial balance field but not both.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/479052952019-12-08T14:10:22Z2019-12-08T14:10:23ZRegister Balance

Thanks. That was the problem. I didn't realize the Initial Balance would
not show up on the account spreadsheet. One more question, if you have
the time: Can the account spreadsheet be formatted to have only one row
for each transaction instead of two?
Thanks,

Philip Alexandertag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/479052952019-12-08T14:23:12Z2019-12-08T14:23:12ZRegister Balance

Hi Philip,

https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/kb/register-and-transactions/con...
Right-click (CTRL-click for Macs) any transaction in the register.
From the resulting context menu, select 'Single Line Mode'.
