I'm not sure if anyone will be able to tell you if this will work. Terminal Server Edition is not often seen these days so I suspect it has not been tried, it has been so long since I used it I do not recall its requirements or any application limitations.

However as Moneydance has trial mode you can download install it and try it out for no cost and no obligation.

The Moneydance folks would have to advise what sort of licensing deal they can do, I suspect that one license for 60 users would not fit too many business models, but an expectation of 60 licenses at full price is also unrealistic.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/480090812020-01-26T01:26:56Z2020-01-26T01:26:56ZLooking for a Quicken Alternative

Hello,

dwg is correct in that we have not tested using Moneydance like this, so I can't really offer any guarantees in any way.

The licensing question is a problem we can definitely work out, so let's put that aside for the moment and just see if we can get the program working in the way you want.

Is there no way for you to install the program locally on each computer? That seems like the easiest solution, if all they need to do is send regular reports from each installation. If not, there's probably no harm in installing the trial version (http://infinitekind.com/downloads) in your current setup and seeing what happens. The demo version is fully functional and allows you to manually enter 100 transactions. If that seems to work, I can also check in with our developers to see if they have thoughts on what could go wrong with this setup, although again, it would probably be mostly speculation.

The application is expected to run on the server. Think of it as the windows take on a server with remote workstations running X-Windows. I am aware of instances where local machines have been well configured and run applications locally, TSE has been use in those instance to run expensive applications where you only need to have a small number of users at any one time and so can keep licensing costs down..

My question is over running multiple instances of Moneydance from the single image and I think the resolution of that is only going to be to try it.

dwg
