Hi Jeanice

It really up to you. Whatever you select, including blank is only for information, not used by Moneydance. You can also add your own text. Click Summary in side bar then ACCOUNT – EDIT ACCOUNT.

Hope this helps

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/480516802020-01-30T15:22:45Z2020-01-30T17:29:23Zsymbol to use in checking register

Hi Jeanice,

Aside from { Print } and < Next Check# > which perform specific duties, there is no real effect on the transaction in question when selecting a particular item for the Check# field. They are more for your own use or for use in reporting.

The withdrawals to my checking account from utilities and such are set to automatically draw on their due date via electronic fund transfers.

Therefore, I've created an 'EFT' entry in the Check# field for those transactions.

To add, remove or change the order of items in the Check# field, while viewing the Summary Page, from the Moneydance menu bar, go to Account > Edit Account. Here you can make those changes (remember, that you must be viewing the Summary Page)

To be honest, I've not been able to discern whether 'Trn' is supposed to stand for Transaction or Transfer. However, I've relegated Trn to Transfer transactions.
