At best I would have to go with untested, not known if it would work or not. However Moneydance is not too keen on reading writing over a network but I do not know if that device is doing that or if the system works more like a server with a remote display.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482137592020-04-03T07:07:39Z2020-04-03T07:07:39ZMoneydance installation on Synology NAS

@dwg - If installed on the NAS itself, then the files are read/written to the local disk. And yes, I have a remote desktop on the server. So my question is, is it possible to install on a non-Intel version of Linux, and how would I go about this?

JFGtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482137592020-04-03T08:06:27Z2020-04-03T08:06:27ZMoneydance installation on Synology NAS

It looks like Synology uses the 64 bit Linux versions of Java i.e. i.e. x64 Intel binaries and it looks like it uses a tar.gz kit for its installation. However a system Linux kit will not do you any good as Moneydance uses its own bundled versions of Java.

There is a tar.gz kit available for Moneydance it can be found at.

for the preview version and

for the current stable version.

Whether it would work, no idea and I believe that there would be no formal support if it does.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482137592020-04-03T08:16:35Z2020-04-03T08:16:35ZMoneydance installation on Synology NAS

Many Synology NAS's have non-Intel processors, in my case (a DS118 NAS) the processor is a 64-bit Realtek RTD1296.

Java is available for my NAS.

So is there a way to install Moneydance (without its own x64 Intel Java), or are there (other) dependencies on the processor type?

JFGtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482137592020-04-03T08:58:11Z2020-04-03T08:58:11ZMoneydance installation on Synology NAS

It looks like it is an ARM based processor. There is no way to install Moneydance without its own Java and I believe that Moneydance would have to be compiled for the processor type

dwg
