Can you explain in more detail what you mean when you write that it doesn't work? Are you getting any error messages, etc?

What is the full name of the file you are trying to open with this option, including the file extension at the end?

That's very strange. Can you try to recreate the steps to open this file using open other where it fails in this way? Then, before you do anything else in the program, can you send me your errlog.txt file? This should contain any error messages with regards to the program, even if they are not being displayed on screen.

If you're using Mac OS X, it should be located at one of these locations within your Home folder:

Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/Data/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

or:

Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

If you have any trouble finding your Home Library folder, open Finder and select Go -> Go to Folder and type in:

~/Library

This should pull up your local Library folder.

If you're using Windows, it should be located at:

C:/Users/(yourusername)/.moneydance/errlog.txt

If you're using Linux, it should be located at:

/home/(yourusername)/.moneydance/errlog.txt

Hi spowell11

You are running a very old build 2017.2(1597)
You could try updating to the last build 2017.10(1706) before Moneydance moved to 2019 at
https://infinitekind.com/download_2017

i seen to remember there were problems with open other in old builds.

Hope this helps.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482215342020-04-05T09:47:09Z2020-04-05T09:47:10Zwelcome screen

Thanks, will probably do this

spowell11tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482215342020-04-05T10:27:46Z2020-04-05T10:27:47Zwelcome screen

Updating was straightforward.
