I have investments in rental property which i have classified under investment. There is regular rent income which is received in to a bank account. My question is it it possible to setup a transaction reminder for this income to credited on the due date to bank account. At the moment I have a transaction reminder which credits the amount to the bank account and shown as income in the rental income account. the result of this is that no income stream is shown in the investment account and the investment report shows nill income .
Any suggestions will be welcomed

If I am understanding you correctly I think a transaction reminder in the Investment account may yield what you want.

I am think of the action of DivXfr, the transfer field being your bank account and the category field being your rental income category.

So the funds pass through the investment account and use this in reports, the funds end up in the bank account and investment reports will show the income under the rental income category.

A note on action types. In Moneydance action types determine how a transaction is to be processed, in some other programs they determine the nature of the transaction but in Moneydance the category you assign determines this. so while you do use Div for Dividends by assigned a dividend category , you can use it for interest transactions by assigning an interest category, Fund distributions by using an appropriate category etc. Thus a Div and associate action types can be use for any type of income event for an investment.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482398822020-04-14T11:36:24Z2020-04-14T11:36:24ZINVESTMENT

HI DWG
