Is there a way to sort transactions in the detailed income/expense report by description. I would like to get a detailed income/expense report by category and then sorted by description. This would give me a report grouped by category and then grouped by description. A subtotal by description would be great if that's possible.

    Hi Steve,
I don't know of any way to do so from within Moneydance.

Saving the report as either an .html file or a delimited file would allow you to use a spreadsheet to sort the data.

However, the way that Moneydance generates the report with the 'Category' column as a hierarchy means that it would require a non-trivial amount of preparation before any meaningful sorting could be performed.

Thanks Kevin. I used to be able to do this type of report on an old release of Quicken but I like Moneydance much more.

    Appreciate your help.
