The latest preview release is Moneydance 2019.4 (1904). However without knowing what version you are using we have no idea if there is a later version to what you have.

Without details of what is actually happen on your system, the exact environment you have it is not possible to speculate whether a later version might be a solution or whether your problem may have other causes.

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/483815762020-06-04T13:12:19Z2020-06-04T13:12:20Zupdates

Wow - no actual tech support? I almost sent a rather curt answer until I saw you are another user. I hope they don’t let this program die - I much prefer it to Quicken. I started using it when it got started.

I’m on 2019.3 (1880). I tried the download page and downloaded what I thought was the latest version and it turns out the be the same one. I’m on a MacBook Pro, using MacOS 10.15.5 (Catalina).

The two primary problems are:
* a whole bunch of transaction reminders disappeared and I had to recreate them. * every once in a while, when trying to perform an action on a transaction (save, delete, modify), Moneydance freezes. I have to quit (and in one case force-quit) in order for it to allow me to complete actions again.

Is there any other info that would help you?

Thanks,

Sometimes when you make a post on a public web forum, other users will try to answer your question before our tech support can get to the thread, which looks like what happened in this case. We strive to answer questions within 24 hours, but helpful fellow users often reply first.

There unfortunately could be a number of reasons for what you describe. The next time the program freezes like you describe, force quit the program, but before you relaunch it, please find and send me your errlog.txt file. This should hopefully contain whatever error messages the program is generating, even if they are not actively being displayed on the screen before the crash.

If you're using Mac OS X, it should be located at one of these locations within your Home folder:

~/Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/Data/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

or:

~/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

If you have any trouble finding your Home Library folder, open Finder, select Go -> Go to Folder -> from the menu bar, and copy and paste in:

~/Library

This should pull up your local Library folder.
