As you can see from
the attached picture the security was set up with currency USD as
that is the currency it is listed in on the London Stock Exchange.
My base currency in Moneydance is DKK, as I am living in
Denmark.

On finance.yahoo.com the prices are listed in cents so I had to
adjust for that the text file with the prices I want to upload (see
text file).

When I then upload the prices via the import function in
moneydance it does not upload the prices as USD as one could
expect.

The price for today according to the text file is 38,65 but the
price history shows a price of 5,8516084. It seems that moneydance
has taken the price in the text file and divided all the prices
with the exchange rate between USD and DKK.

This is clearly a design flaw. You cannot expect the user to
upload all security prices in base currency. That would limit me as
a user to only invest in domestic securities. This might work if I
would be an American only investing in US securities but as soon as
you also have foreign securities this will not work.

Is the investment account in DKK as well? I want to pass this on
to the developers and i need the full parameters of the account.
What I want to suggest to them that price imports not have currency
conversions assuming most users would be importing prices in the
currency of the security.

Yes, the investment account is also in DKK.

I totally agree, the main rule should be that the importing
prices of a security should be in the currency of the security and
not the currency of the investment account etc.

It might be a good think if I as a user could choose if I wanted
one thing or the other. I could see the situation where I cannot
find the correct price on Yahoo or Google and then I have to take
the price from my stockbroker which might only supply the price in
the currency of the investment account.

I hope this helps.
