I have recently changed brokers and I've been reading previous posts on how to move securities. It appears the you still have to use a manual buy/sell process using the original buy price, and have to do it for each security individually. I did find this comment from a support person

'Hi Kevin,
Unfortunately there is not currently way to do this but there is a plan to in 2013 to implement a batch change feature for securities that would allow them to be moved without be treated as a share or purchase.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Has anything come of this, as I'm sure moving from one broker to another is a very common occurrence.

    Hi Paul,

In your case where you would be moving all of your holdings from one broker to another, it may serve you better to just change the particulars of the account so as to reflect the new brokerage.

You could make an annotation in the 'Comments' section of the account as to the transfer date and any other relevant information.

If the entirety of your holdings are just being moved from one broker to another , then Kevin's advice is sound. Just edit the account with the new broker info.
