You can right click on a transaction and select the option
"Duplicate Transaction" from the popup menu.

One may also setup investment transaction reminders; (like if
you always have quarterly dividends incoming)

One drawback to this type of transaction entry is if you also
download brokerage activity into the account; one cannot
merge downloaded transactions with existing register
transactions like one can with bank and credit card accounts. So
one has to cleanup investment activity in such a situation.

Thought you might like to know. (g)

I am try to fix an import file from Quicken that is missing a
transaction.

I was able to to do a copy and paste but I can not edit the
transaction.

If I manually fix it (add) the transaction posts the ReinvDiv
and adds
that amount in the account balance column.
Thus gives account the balance.

JLtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/369715222015-05-28T18:52:50Z2015-05-28T18:52:50ZCopy and paste transaction & edit

JL

To edit a transaction all you need to do is double click on it.
Is that not working for you?

When it was added it adds to the account balance and it should
not.
That is if it can do this.

The transaction is a Dividend - ReinvDiv - Dividend Income

JLtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/369715222015-05-28T19:29:57Z2015-05-28T19:29:57ZCopy and paste transaction & edit

Depending on the transaction type different fields are enabled
or disabled. Can you tell me the exact type of the transaction. Is
is a "Div" or a "DivReinviest". This is in the action field for the
transaction.

This is how it came over during the conversion.

I was missing one (some how) and have to or want to duplicate it
without it adding to the cash balance.

JLtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/369715222015-05-28T19:57:03Z2015-05-28T19:57:03ZCopy and paste transaction & edit

I understand that you imported this transaction from a QIF file.
Is that correct.

It looks like the transaction was not correctly encoded in the
QIF file. I suggest deleting it and reentering it as a transaction
of type "DivReinviest". A transaction of type "DivReinviest" will
let you change the number of shares and price fields.

Great that worked.
Thanks

One more question for now
I notice that there is a clear circle (dot) next to "C" column.
What is that?
How do I clear it?

JLtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/369715222015-05-28T21:57:22Z2015-05-28T22:04:58ZCopy and paste transaction & edit

JL,

That green circle (dot) means that the transaction has
been cleared and reconciled; probably in Quicken.

If you need to get rid of it, edit the transition again, and
click on the green circle in the C Column. click on the
Unclear Line in the dropdown menu. Save the
transaction.

Oh, the clear (blue) circle next to the C Column means
that the transaction was downloaded from the brokerage site, and
confirmed. You cannot get rid of it; at least, I have not found a
way.
