Absolutely, you can view a list of categories within Moneydance by navigating to Tools --> Categories, and these can be edited, deleted and new categories can be added.

I hope this is helpful, please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

After many years of Quicken I am thoroughly disgusted and may try Moneydance. I have downloaded MD and will delve into it tomorrow. Meanwhile let me ask some questions. As transactions are downloaded from financial institution I assume they are automatically placed in appropriate categories after MD finally recognizes them-correct? Can one create a yearly budget? Can I print such budget? Do I have to manually update(download) tranactions.. or is that done automatically or can that be scheduled at certain days/times? Can I create reports-monthly ,weekly and if so, print them? User manual? And most important-have any customers have as their financial institution...Janney Montgomery Scott, a brokerage firm? Also-how is the support system-chat with someone from Guatemala, etc-I hope not!

Thanks,
