Hi

My quotes are not updating my Security/stock prices. It stopped updating a month ago and I have checked all the obvious options without success. Exchange rates update but the securities get an error message 'Error downloading...no data found'. I have run the Test but just get X History X.

Any help most welcomed

    Hi Rob,

Can you offer an example of a ticker symbol that is not updating for you?

    Hi Kevin

    Thanks for your mail

They are mainly UK stocks such as Standard Life (Ticker SL). They all use to work but now don’t.

There are some mutual funds such as Ticker GB0032897653 that didn’t ever update – I think this is an issue with Yahoo Finance. I understand about the Mutual Funds but just need the Stocks to start working again.

Quotes and Extensions is set to Yahoo Finance-UK for History and Current Quotes.

If I run ‘Test’, it comes up with X History, X Current Quote (!), if I then hover over these the error message is History: Received Response Code 404 and message Not Found and Current Quote: No data found.

    Any help appreciated

    Regards

    Hi Rob,

I was able to get a quote for Ticker SL using the settings displayed in the attached screenshot.

UK Mutual Fund quotes seem hopelessly lost.

    Hi Kevin

Thanks for the screen shot. I changed the current prices to Yahoo US but it still errors on every stock and doesn’t update. I’m using the Tickers that have been working for a few years

    Hi Rob,

I'm here in the US. I wonder if that may have something to do with my being able to d/l the quote for SL through the Q&ER updater via Yahoo USA.

I would say that maybe your virus scanner or firewall is blocking something but in your OP you mention that exchange rates DO update.

I will yield to the MD support staff to help you further. This is beyond my understanding of the world of 1's and 0's. :(

Sorry that I couldn't be of more help.

    Sorry for the late reply.

If you switch to Yahoo US for prices you want to make sure that either the tickers have a ".l" suffix or the exchange is selected to London exchange.

If you doing either of these and its still not updating, an you please attach a screen shot of your extension window. I want to create a test file to replicate your issue.

I am running into a similar problem here in the USA. Using Yahoo Finance for both current and historical quotes. Messages says something about an error in communication response, "Moved Permanently." Has the URL for yahoo Finance changed maybe?

    Hi All,

Take a look at this post from Moneydance developer Sean Reilly. He provides a downloadable new Q&ER extension (version 1001).
    http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/problems/32473-stock-price...

It has been my experience that it no longer throws an error when importing Historical US price quotes when used in MD 2017.

I'm not 100% sure but v. 1001 should work with MD 2015 as well but I don't think it will work with prior versions of Moneydance.

This problem just started 2 days ago. I have ver. 2014.5, I think it has
    something to do with Yahoo.

I was just told that the Sean updated the extension for 2014 and earlier. Remove your current extension and reinstall the new version (v79). I did test it and it worked for the limited tickers on my 2014 test file.

Also you key will work for a free upgrade to MD 2015. If you want you can download that from here:

    Hi Rob,

how do I remove the current extension and re-install the new version?

From the Moneydance menu bar, go to Extensions > Manage Extensions.
In the resulting window, locate the Q&ER updater - Click the 'Upgrade' button.
    Accept the prompt.

    Hi Rob,

It seems that v.79 is working for some users but not for others. There's a couple of posts about it starting here:
    http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/problems/32473-stock-price...

It looks as though it depends on the version of Moneydance that v.79 works in.

I am having this problem as well. I updated the extension (now it looks like I have both the old and new one v1001, but neither work). The error that flashes by is:

"Error downloading price history for XXX: Received response code 404 and message 'Not'.

(Yes, it is truncated just like that.)

I apologize for the late response we have been trying to find a solution to this issue.

Yahoo has changed the availability of the downloadable file that Moneydance has been retrieving.

If you set the extension to Yahoo -USA and set the exchange field to London exchange (or other appropriate non-US exchange) then you should at least have a current price update.

    Hi Tom

Thanks for your persistence. I have tried :

Currency Exchange Rates: Yahoo! Currency Exchange Rate

Historic Security Prices: Yahoo! Finance –USA

    Current Security Prices: Yahoo! Finance-USA

But unfortunately it still errors ( Code 404, No data etc)

I tried different options ( Do Not Update, Google Finance – History Only) with Historic Security Prices, but no luck with any.

Do you need anything else to assist?

    Regards

As of yesterday current quotes are taking a very long time to download. At first I didn't think anything was downloading and after about 4 minutes noticed one stock updated. Then everything seemed to stop. I waited another 5 minutes and another stock updated. Anyone else having this problem?

Are you still having the issue of slow updates of current prices from the quotes and exchange extension?

I was not able to replicate the issue. It may have been a temporary Yahoo issue.

Can You attach a screen shot of your extension window? Are you receiving any errors when using the extesnion?

Also can you run the extesnion then attach your errlog.txt file?

If you're using Mac OS X, it should be located at one of these locations within your Home folder:

    ~/Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/Data/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

    or:

    ~/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

If you have any trouble finding your Home Library folder, open Finder and select Go -> Go to Folder and and copy and paste in the following:

    ~/Library

This should pull up your local Library folder.

If you're using Windows, it should be located at:

    C:\Users\(yourusername)\.moneydance\errlog.txt
