Problems downloading Stock Prices
The extension for Quotes & Exchange Rates appears to have stopped working in terms of downloading stock prices.
I'm using the ticker Symbol of "LLOY.L" & have both Historical & Current Security Prices set to come from Yahoo Finance UK.
When I test the download the results show both History & Current Quote with red crosses & the error messages read:-
History: Received response code 504 and message 'Maximum'
Current Quote: uk.old.finance.yahoo.com
Any ideas please?

Hi Andreas,
Thank you for contacting us, we've been looking into this issue and it seems all customers are encountering a 500 error - either 502 or 504.
We've located a thread on the Yahoo forum, where unfortunately a Yahoo support representative has confirmed that Yahoo Finance API has been discontinued.
From the changes that have been made, it seems like Yahoo is trying to prevent people from automated downloading like Moneydance (and so many others) are doing.
Our lead developer has mentioned that we may be able to make a change, that means the Moneydance connection will pose as a browser, rather than a program. This may allow the connection. However, it seems very likely that this will turn into a 'cat-and-mouse' game.
We'll be looking into other services we can use instead - please advise if you are aware of any which may be suitable.

That’s a real shame as this was a key feature of MD.
Whilst I don’t know of any other providers I did notice that Yahoo provide the ability for user driven downloads. The only problem being that the price figures within these downloads is in pence, rather than pounds (which is how MD hands it). A share price of 75 pence is shown as 75.00, whereas MD shows the same as 0.75.
Therefore, the CSV available from Yahoo is unusable without a significant amount of reprocessing.
Please do keep me informed as to any solution that you might be able to locate.
Many thanks
Andy

Not having automatic price updates brings much greater attention to the existing problem of manual investment transaction entry not updating the investment price. This problem has existed for quite some time now. When can we expect action on fixing this bug with manual entry not updating the investment price?

I have this problem with yahoo finance USA. I get the price quote but the history is not downloaded and gets a 502 error.
Is the the same as the situation as the UK version of yahoo. It seems it is but I am not sure.
I thought google finance provided this type of service but they probably do the same as yahoo.
I guess tricking it into thinking there is a human at the other side might be the best solution but I can see how that could turn into a cat and mouse game as you already stated.
Thanks and please keep me informed. This is a great feature.

Hi jalan.
I am not support staff, just a user.
At some point a change was made in that the transaction price to buy or sell a security is now entered in to the securities price history. Check out the preview version at https://infinitekind.com/preview
Hope this helps.

Guys
For some reason prices have now started downloading!!
Whilst this is good news on the one hand, prices are now comes down in pence rather than pounds & everything is 100 times over valued.
Any thoughts please?
Thanks
