Reduce a holding of stock at nilcost
How do I reduce a holding of stock at nil cost. I do not want to dispose of the stock altogether as there should be a balance remaining

Sharesdo not just disappear, perhaps you can explain the events that have occurred so that we can perhaps better advise how to record it.

Dwg.
On 3 January I purchased 440 Compass Group PLC Ord GBP 0.10625 at a cost of £6476.36
On 27 June there was a reverse split giving me 423 Compass Group Plc Ord GBP 0.1105 at a cost of £6593.50
The only way I can see to this deduction of stock is to show a sale on 27 June of 440 shares and a purchase of 423 shares

Hi Kevin,
Try this...
Divide 440 by 423. The result is 1.040189125295508
Enter a stock split for the security at a ratio of 1 for 1.040189125295508
