Batch Change Investment Account Transactions

Hello,

Is it possible to Batch Change the Action field of Investment Transactions? Part of my and my wife's paychecks are automatically deposited into retirement accounts, which I import into Moneydance. Because the cash for the securities are transferred into the account (by my employer), the Action of each transaction should be BuyXfr, but they're imported as Buy. I have to go in and manually change them all, which is tedious.

If Batch Change is not currently possible, may I suggest it be added in a future release? Or an option to set default Actions for certain account imports? Or is there another way to do what I'm trying to do?

Thanks!
Steven

    Hi Steven,

Unfortunately it's not possible to batch change items in an Investment account and I'm not aware of an easier way to accomplish what you're trying to do. I've passed your suggestion along to the developers, so they'll be taking it into consideration.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance!

Thank's for getting back to me, Scott. When I submitted the ticket, I had
just imported my 401(k) for the first time (I've been using Quicken for
years and I recently switched) and it imported a couple hundred
transactions. I was so frustrated after manually changing the first 50 that
I kept looking for a way to automate it. I was able to write an AutoHotKey
script to automate the process. It worked for this initial import and will
work for future imports, so my problem is solved. It's still probably
something your developers should consider, however, as I'm sure I'm not the
only user that imports his 401(k).

I still like your software so far, so don't take that as a complaint.

    Thanks,
    Steven
