Spurious Share Price in History at Dividend Dates
This problem appears a couple of times in past discussions, but has been closed out by IK without a resolution.
When a dividend is paid, MD enters a share price of 1 in the history. This creates problems: Various MD reports give wrong values (e.g. [Account Balances] and [Net Worth]). Also, the share price history graph has silly spikes in it.
An earlier thread on this says that this unit price doesn't matter because "it's just a placeholder". Well, it does matter, for the reasons given above. If it's just a placeholder, then MD should stop inserting it in the share price history. Otherwise we have the tedious task of manually combing through our histories for bad data.
P.S. You can't amend the share price against each dividend payment because it is greyed-out. Anyway, doing this may not amend the spurious entry in the history.

I have just created a test dividend in MD 2015 build 1225. It didn't spawn a spurious price in the history.
Does this mean the bug has been fixed?

Yes the bug was fixed. Also you should upgrade to build 1280 A number of investmetn bugs were fixed from previous builds.

THIS HAS NOT BEEN FIXED !!!
I have build 1299, and all dividends still have this issue.
It makes many charts USELESS, and all the investment components produce crazy numbers.

Can you send a screen shot of your securities detail window for one of the securities having this issue, a screen shot of the price history for this security. Can you please copy the contents of your console window and paste to a reply.
How are the dividends imported to your MD file, direct download or qif import?
