Moneydance 2017 is messing up security prices and currencies

Hello,

I use Moneydance for the last several years but switched to the v2017 few months ago and that's when I noticed some strange bugs:

Background: My main currency is EUR but I have some bank accounts and investments in USD. Prices for investments are not automatically updated.

1) For securities in USD, when I'm adding a new price in the "Currency/Security History" panel, and Currency is set to USD, when I enter Current Price as 100, it's added to the history as "103.50097031". (Obviously, this is not related to USD/EUR forex.) The issue affects all USD securities. What's going on here?

2) Net Worth on the Summary page and Net Worth total shown in the details window (when I click the Net Worth on the Summary) show different amounts - about 5% difference.

Hope you can shed some light on this and fix the issue. Issues in the portfolio management are very serious.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

We had some issues with currencies in earlier builds of MD. Can you confirm you build of MD 2017. Help > about MD

The most current build is 1671 which you can get from here: http://infinitekind.com/preview

If you are using the most recent build and the issue persists, Are you using the quote and exchange extension? How are you updating currencies?

Yes, I'm using the latest v2017.7.1 (1671) with Quotes and Exchange Rates
Updater v1015. Currencies update automatically when I start MD.
I can reproduce the issue using these versions.

    Thanks.

I know this was a bug from the past. I tried to create a Euro to Dollar account and not replicate.

Try again then send me your errlog.txt file? If you're using Mac OS X, it should be located at one of these locations within your Home folder:

    ~/Library/Containers/com.infinitekind.MoneydanceOSX/Data/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

    or:

    ~/Library/Application Support/Moneydance/errlog.txt

If you have any trouble finding your Home Library folder, open Finder and select Go -> Go to Folder and and copy and paste in the following:

    ~/Library

This should pull up your local Library folder.

If you're using Windows, it should be located at:

    C:\Users\(yourusername)\.moneydance\errlog.txt

    Log file attached.
In this session I started MD and updated one USD security price.

Note that my MD file was created with v2014 which worked fine. I believe
issues with the currencies started earlier this year when I upgraded to
v2017. (I'm on Linux and v2017 has also regressions with UI - I reported an
issue about it but no feedback on that one.)

    Thanks.

I am going to pass this on to one of the developers to look at and see if they can diagnose the issue.
