Downloading stock prices
In October and November 2017, I wrote to you twice, asking when you would fix this feature. Twice I was told that a fix was in progress and that you would notify me when the fix was available. I received no notice.
Earlier this month, I downloaded the new version of Moneydance, which also didn't download stock prices, and I wrote again. I was instructed to get an Alphavantage key, which I did. Downloading with Alphavantage is slow, but it worked for a couple of weeks.
Yesterday and today, however, downloading stock prices with Alphavantage resulted in errors in 31 of my 55 stocks. Today, I tried it a second time with a similar result. Since I didn't watch the screen for the entire downloading process, I don't know which of my stocks were correctly downloaded and which weren't, which means that I have to download them all manually anyway.
Do you have a solution for correctly downloading stock prices? If so, what is it?

An update to the Q & ER extension to v1015 was released to fix the issue you are finding. Check for an update under EXTENSIONS – MANAGE EXTENSIONS.
If you are still facing problems when using v1015 then loose your frustration by trying a free standalone program.
The program was originally developed to help out users of MS Money when Microsoft stopped supporting that product. The program is in java, like Moneydance and thus runs on Windows, Mac and Linux computers. The developer has adapted it to work with Moneydance and is actively supporting the program. This program is very stable and the quotes very consistent with the option of two sources, not Alpha Vantage. No strange prices. It has a lot of useful features. These include, obtaining prices from many stocks and fund quoted on different exchanges, US, Canada, UK, Europe and Australia to name but a few. More features in the pipeline. Provide a means for importing all this data into Moneydance. You can also import exchange rates along with your security prices, if required. The program list all the quotes found and if any cant be found these are listed to. No guess work interpreting the results. Running the program again will give the same results, you want be faced with the issues you are finding with the Q & ER.

I'm experiencing the same issue as the OP. After experimenting with downloading subsets of my quote needs, I'm guessing there's a timing/timeout issue causing the errors.
Try this:
1. Select 3 stocks for which you want quotes. Deselect all the others. Click to download the quotes. If you are successful, deselect the three and select another set of three. Continue.
2. If you receive an error with one or more of the three, it'll be much more obvious which stock/s is causing an error. Select one stock that errored (deselect the others). Download the quote. It should download successfully. If it doesn't, try again. Usually I can download in two tries, but one in a while it takes three or four attempts. Eventually, the price *will* download. Continue.
The fact that I went from 27 errors down to 0 errors by doing this is what makes me think there's a timing issue between the extension and Alphavantage.

Did you update the Q & ER extension to v1015 as this update was meant to fix the timing issue you have outlined?
Have you tried the free stand-alone program as this has no such timing issue?
No need to run again and again to reduce the errors to zero.
Far faster and less frustrating!
