Moneydance won't let me purchase a security
I have an investment account set up and haven't kept up with it over the years. The account has a cash part and a mutual fund. The mutual fund was incorrect so I deleted it because the system would not let me simply correct the fund name. So now I have only cash. I want to add (or purchase) the mutual fund with about half the cash, but each time I enter "Buy" under action the system changes it to "Xfr".
In addition, in the Transfer column there is an entry that I can't delete. Plus the "Shares" amount is populated and I can't change that either.
Please tell me how to fix this problem. Thank you.

To change the name of a security you go to securities detail window for that security select history then click the edit button next to the security name. An edit security box will pop up and you can edit the name in here. When you refresh your windows the new name will appear.
What you describe happens when there are no securities added to an investment account. After deleting the incorrect security did you recreate the security with the correct information?
If this is not the issue, can you please attach a screen shot of the investment register so I can better advise.
