Hello,
I am starting from scratch. I was able to import transactions into my credit card and bank accounts from downloads (exports from the institutions' websites). However, when I created an investment account I couldn't find a way to import the positions download from schwab. How do I get positions into Moneydance?

    Hi Jane,

You'll need to manually establish your holdings. The imported data will provide transactional information.

Look to these Moneydance KB articles for insights into adding securities to an investment account.

One word of caution. Create only one instance of any given security regardless of whether or not you hold it in more than one account.

    Hi Kevin,
I'm starting over because my current Moneydance account has become unwieldy
and corrupted. But can I export the securities from the current Moneydance
iteration and then import them into the new one?
    Thanks
    Jane

    Hi Jane,

Although I've never attempted it, there is an Export menu item listed under the File menu.

    Choose the QIF file format.
Select the investment account in question.
Select the appropriate Date range and give it a whirl.

You would then import the QIF file into a new data file.

Don't be surprised if other accounts populate during the import as any transfers into the investment account will cause entries into those transfer account(s).

TBH, it sounds problematic but it just might work.
