No updates for several weeks with Quotes & Ex Rates updater
Good day. I am using MoneyDance Ver 2017.8 with Quotes and exchange rate updater version 1023. About 2 - 3 weeks ago I stopped getting quotes to update my investments, and have to put them in manually every day. When the updater runs, it comes back with $0.00 for every investment, so it never updates in the program. It WAS working flawlessly, and to the best of my knowledge nothing here has changed. I tried uninstalling the updater and reinstalling it, but no change. Is it shut down? Or is there something else I can try? Thanks for any help. Marc

Make sure you are running the latest build of 2017 at https://infinitekind.com/download-moneydance-personal-finance-software
To check the build, you are running see HELP – ABOUT MONEYDANCE. e.g. 2017.10(1706).
If the Quote and exchange rate updater does not work well for you try the free third-party Quote Loader see post 220 in this thread http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/investments/3771-third-par...
It has far wider coverage and is fast.
Download the PDF attached to post 220 and have a read. To get an overview take a look at the YouTube video by using the link in the PDF.
Let us know how you get on or if you need help just post.

Thanks Derekkent23. The update did not help. Still the same. Thing that bothers me is that it DID work, then just stopped. It is SUPPOSED to be part of Moneydance, and part of what I paid for.. We shouldnt have to go to a third party program to make it work. Looked at the program briefly, but will check it out in detail shortly. Hopefully Support comes up with an easier answer that works. Thanks Derekkent23 for your response. I posted a reply earlier, but it never showed here. I would LIKE to make Moneydance work as it is supposed to,since we paid for that function as part of the program, but if it cant, I will try the third party pgm. I looked it briefly, and it seems like a good program, but a lot of setup for something that shouldnt have to be done. I will wait to see if I hear from SUPPORT with an easy fix. If not, I will be trying it just to make this work. It is frustrating. Thank you very much for your help, and will let you know how it works out for me. Thanks again.

I forgot to mention that I DID try the update, and it did NOT help. Also uninstalled updater again and still nothing. Exchange rates update, but no quotes. All come back as $0.00. Thanks

Did you use the link in the PDF to the YouTube video. From that you will see the Quote Loader in action, how easy it is to install, setup and run. You get much more definitive information as prices are being obtained and can see exactly what prices you are to be saved to each security history window.
Take a look.

I did finally get to sit and watch the video, and attempted the install. I must say, that I should have done this change long ago. I see now why you are always on here helping people. You must be a computer programmer by trade. The program is WONDERFUL, and works like a charm! Moneydance should consider paying you for your work. All I can say is THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I can finally get all my investments to download daily, and not have to manually put them in. This program is a blessing! Happy New Year to you and your family, and thanks for helping! Marc

The real credit belongs to Mike Bray and hleofxquotes the two programmers. My contribution is in testing and documentation, the PDF and video.
We all give our time for free and are happy to do, words of appreciation help.
