Mutual Fund Prices - no show

Updated both M-Dance and Quotes and Exchange Updater to most recent versions (MD: Beta build 1826, Updater: 1023) about ten days ago. Since then none of my mutual find prices have updated, while the stock prices update just fine, and real fast, thank you!
This is true whether I use Alphavantage or IEX as the data source. Any idea what is going on?

Also, with Currency Exchange set for "Do not Update", Alphavantage posts a (leisurely) string of messages stating "Unable to get rate from [each stock and fund on my list] to USD" which makes no sense at all, of course. A great puzzle.

Thanks

Either both Alpha Vantage and IEX don’t support your mutual funds or you are using the wrong ticker symbols. Can you give a couple of examples of the ticker symbol, plus the full name of the funds so I can test?
With the Currency Exchange set for "Do not Update” its only exchange rates, e.g. USD to Pound etc, that will be skipped, but the Q &ER will still attempt to get security prices.

    Hope this helps.

Sure: here's one: Vanguard 500 Index Fund VFIAX or VFINX (both symbols bring up the same fund via Google - they are just different ownership quantity symbols).

However, VFINX worked just fine prior to my updating the apps a couple of weeks back, but doesn't now.

An unambiguous fund symbol: VALIX Value line Cap Appreciation Fund.

And just to clarify, Alphavantage does get the security prices but ALSO returns the strange "Unable to..." message with a stock or fund name in place of the first two currency names.

    Thank you for your checking.

I tested both your symbols direct with Alpha Vantage and they both returned prices.

I don’t use the Q & ER but installed v1023 into MD 2017(1706) and both returned a price.
However, with Q & ER v1023 installed in MD 2019(1826) both return no prices. Looks like a bug in Q & ER working with 2019.

I use the free third-party Quote Loader and running under 2017 and 2019 it returns the correct prices. See attached when using 2019.

I you want to run 2019 take a look at the PDF attached to post 220 in thread http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/investments/3771-third-par...

The PDF also contains a link to a YouTube Video take a look.

If you have any problems just post.

    Hope this helps.

    Many thanks!

Clearly I can either switch over to Quote Loader or wait until the bug in MD2019 (v. 1826) in combination with Q&ER v. 1023 is located and exterminated. (I don’t have very many mutual funds so inserting their prices by hand in not a big deal.)

Meanwhile, my wife wants me to go grocery shopping…

    Thanks again.

    Best,

    I'm a fellow user.

Problems using the Q & ER extension with MD 2019 (various versions) have been reported. Of course no one is using MD2019 for their day to day work though, it is just beta software in field testing at this stage.
