2019.0(1845) may help.

derekkent23tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/467893962019-01-12T11:42:40Z2019-01-12T11:42:41ZQuotes and Exchange Rate Extension (QER)

Dear derekkent234,

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded Preview 1845 and launched the QER extension. I noticed immediately a good sign: instead of "No Data Found" I now had the "Price for …" as the notification at the bottom left of my home page. But all the prices were 0.00 except for currencies.
So I thought: here we go again… But then I noticed that the value of my portfolio DID change (alas, not surprisingly, down, I haven't had prices for a while) and indeed all my securities except one did show the correct* current price.

So yes it does work now. Thank you for the tip and indeed thank you for your many contributions to this forum. It is also reassuring to know that IK is on the job.

An old annoying problem resurfaced: a number of my stock prices were out by a factor of 100. I can adjust for this within QER by changing pounds/pence (my base currency is GBP) but some old oprices in the history data are still out. Changing these manually is not feasible. Does anyone here know how to batch cnage prices in in stock history?

PS I have now installed Preview 1846 this did not affect the comments above.

Thanks again

Hi Peter

Sorry, I know of no way of batch changing prices in security history. Alpha Vantage is known for switching between pence and pounds for no reason. As you found it makes a mess of security price history. Not much Moneydance can do about that.

That is one of the reasons I now use the third-party Quote Loader, along with far better coverage of UK securities and the fact its fast, has no bugs or strange behaviour. Quote Loader sources are consistent, no switching between pounds and pence and back again.

If you do want to try the Quote Loader for 2019 see post 15 at http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/investments/4039-quote-loa...

At least download the PDF and use the link in it to view the YouTube video to get a look how it works.

Hope this helps

derekkent23
