I am using MD 2019 and trying to import a CSV file from a brokerage account into my MD investing account. The Moneydance transaction fields that pop up when I try import the file are more appropriate for the MD bank and credit card registers (Date, Check#, Description, Debit Amount, Credit Amount, Balance) not for MD investing account register (Date, Action, Check #,Description, Memo, Security, Category, Shares, Price, Amount, Fees, Cash Balance). Where are the transaction fields that correspond to the MD investing register?

    I'm a fellow user.

That is because the Text File importer and the CSV importer do not work with Investment accounts. Investment accounts do not have a fixed table structure, the structure of the record depends on the action, and those actions are pre-defined.

Mike Bray has written a importer for CSV files that will work with some transactions you can find it at:
